Here's the good news: If you are well prepared, flying with an infant and toddler may be easier than you think. Try some of these great tips to make your sky-voyage a smooth one. Hello Dear Here are some tips I always find Helpful Reserve a nonstop flight. If that's not possible, go direct. Waking a sleeping baby to switch planes should be avoided at all costs! Take a night flight. Your child may snooze through a few states. Buy a seat for your baby. It's worth the extra price. All children need their own seats on airplanes -- and children under the age of two, or weighing less than 40 pounds, should be securely fastened in child restraint seats when flying. Preselect your seats. If it is just you and child, book an aisle seat for easy access to bathrooms and walking areas. Beware of bulkhead seats. While it allows for more leg room, there isn't storage under the seat. This means more visits to the overhead bin. Also, immobile armrests prevent a tired child from cuddling with mom and dad. Bring backpacks. They can be filled with toys, water bottles and snacks that your kids help to select. Carry an extra outfit for your baby. Otherwise, you know what will happen ... Get to the gate early. Take advantage of pre-boarding for passengers traveling with children. Traveling with your Baby to Dubai is VERY SAFE and you dont pose any health risks out of the norm.Make sure that your baby has all the requiered shots for a Baby its age. Best of Luck!

Yikes! That's a long time. They probably give you food, but i think you should bring your own because depending on what airline you have, I heard the food isn't that good.

So:

1.Eat

2.Read a magazine (with quizzes and games in it)

3.Sleep

4.Get one of those books where you fill in mad libs, do crosswords, mazes, etc

5.Play games on your cellphone (your phone can be on if its on airplane mode, which you can do in the settings)

6.Read the sky mall

7.look out the window (trust me it can be entertaining)

8. Imagine what your trip will be like

9.Go to the bathroom

10. Read a book

11. see how long you can stay still without moving

12. talk to the person next to you, or the person you are flying with

13. Normally on long flights they play movies so you can watch that

14. Listen to your Ipod and play games on it

15.fix your hair in weird styles lol

16. See how long you can keep your eyes open without blinking

17. try to add really big numbers in your head.

18. Doodle or draw

19. Make a list of things you want to do on your trip

20. Write a story about crazy things

21. Look at the cloud's weird figures and make up stories about them

22. Draw your dream room/house

23. What I do is if I have 30 minutes left in the ride, I convince my self i still have another hour to go, so that the time seems shorter.

I do this....

Look out the window

Eat the meal

Use the washroom

watch the moving map on the TV

watch a movie

talk with my travel buddy

read the airplane magazine

if a red-eye, might lean back and relax

about 1.5 hours before landing, go and freshen up

stuff like that.

When I went to Alaska it was about a 7 hour flight. I brought a few books: nonfiction, critical thinking puzzles, and a magazine, and something funny which usually makes time fly. Also grab your mp3 so you don't have to listen to the person next to you breathing. Some jets have mini TVs now but you have to pay like $4-6 for a movie. Grab something you can eat because even thought its a long flight, some airlines only serve peanuts.

and always bring at least 2 books and a few of my fav mags in case i don't really want to read

maybe instead of 20 minutes on make up spend 30 or 45 and do something new or try to copy someones make up in one of the mags

-Or if your don't like books, buy a magazine or two.

-Listen to music

-Sleep (already got that one covered)

-Bring a deck of cards and play a game with the person next to you

-Buy some good games on your iPod (Tetris, CSI:Miami, cool stuff like that). You'll be entertained for awhile.

Movies are always a great option, as is sleeping, bring lots of different books, and an ipod for music. if your cell phone works up there you an use that to keep in touch with friends, too. That way you won't be so lonely.

Oh, and you might not be on your won. If it's a crowded flight you might get paired with another lone traveler. Just keep that in mind.

Hope you have fun!

Don't you read at all?

I like to take a few magazines when I'm flying. I usually have some lying around the house that I haven't gotten around to reading. I get on the plane, read the magazines, then leave them in the seat pocket for the next person. That way I can get some reading done and have less to lug around when I get where I'm going.

BTW, I hate it when the person next to me starts talking.

Whenever i go, i never fail to bring an ipod and some books and magazines. Also When i went on a 23 hour flight to australia (when i was 13) by myself, i made friends with the people i was sitting next too, and to tell you the truth, they took up most of the time. But, if its only a 10 hr trip, watch about 5 movies and that should onl leave you about 2 hours before landing, it will go by in no time. And when you start to go down, below the clouds about half an hour before landing its really cool to look out the windows and see everyone and everything on the ground below you.

dont forget to bring gum so your ears dont pop!

If you tend to sleep on the plane, you may be happier with a window seat. If you tend to be restless, or if you tend to need frequent bathroom breaks, get an aisle seat.

If planes engines are mounted on the wings, it will be quieter far forward (which is often occupied by first class and then sold out quickly in coach), or far back (which is more often available).

If the engines are mounted on the tail, get a seat as far forward as possible.

You can listen to music, bring your computer and play games, if you have a PSP or DS you can use that, read books or magazines, write poems/songs/plans for what you will be doing when you reach California...

Read a good book or bring a couple of magazines. That will kill a couple of hours.

Pretty much what everyone else said.

I like to bring along candies like mints, jawbreakers, gum, or any hard candies that will take a long time to eat. You can focus on them when you get bored.
