I'm going to be traveling soon and I'm going to need ID. The thing is I don't have my license yet, just my learners permit. Will they accept my permit as a valid source of ID? It has a photo and has not expired yet.

Yes it actually is a valid ID because its issued by the state. You technically aren't required to have an ID to fly if you're under 18(although they may give you a difficult time). I've used a school ID before and was fine.
Happy flying. :)

how old are you?
children under the age of 18 and flying within the usa are not required to show any form of identification.
if you are 18+ and the learner's permit was issued by the government and has your photo on it then it would be considered a government issued photo Id and would be acceptable.
otherwise if you are 18+ you could always go get a state ID from your local dmv.

yes is is considered id cause they take away ur id for a reason, what happens if u get arrested or something else u can use it cause the state has ur other id until u recive ur license, and my daughter has flown to pr 3 times with out any id ,or her drivers permit.

Your learner's permit is not an acceptable form of government issued ID; the acceptable forms of ID you can get from the DMV are either a drivers' license or a State ID which is issued only for identification purposes only. However, if you are less than 18 years old at the time you travel, you don't need an ID to get through TSA security and board your flight.

If you are under 18, you do not need ID.
Learners permits issued in some states will work as well, even if you are over 18.

What you describe is not a learner's permit. So I don't know if you are talking about a learner's permit or a probationary license. These are 2 very different things. A learner's permit is just a piece of paper authorizing you to be able to drive with a parent in the front passenger seat during certain hours. A Probationary license is what you get once you pass the test and the behind the wheel. That is identical to a regular Driver's license other than it says Probationary. A Probationary license would be a valid form of photo ID, a Learner's permit is not.
