So i live in CT and my husband has an interview in Orlando Fl tuesday 21 of january. it was all of a sudden and we didn't have the money to buy a plane ticket. i tried borrowing but nothing and in my bank account i just have like $30. So i remembered wen i buy on ebay and i dont have enough in my card they charge it and i get a negative. So i thought what if i try doing it with the plane ticket? so i did it and they confirmed that i had bought the ticket. But in my paypal its still pending Thou its just been about 2 hours since i bought it. But im still worried that they might not accept it and he will loose hes job interview. So i just need confirmation that yes i can buy a plane ticket with no money in my account even if i get a negative.

*I will put money in the bank soon but its still not enough for the ticket*

Okay I am going to give you the bad news first and just to let you know how serious this is....what you are doing by intentionally over drafting your account is a form of fraud and in some cases could end you up being arrested.

Your bank account is not a line of credit. When you are attempting to spend money that is not in your account it is 100% up to your bank if they will approve or decline the charge. Whether or not they pay it will most likely depend on how "negative" this puts you as well as your history with them. If this puts you a couple hundred dollars negative and you have a history of doing this they may decline it. If you have only one other negative and this only puts you a few dollars negative it may get approved.

As to if the ticket went through..do you have a confirmation number? This is generally a set of 5-6 Alpha-Numeric characters. If you received this then the odds are you do have a confirmed(and paid for flight) according to the airline, and it would be very rare for them to go through and cancel the ticket.

If you have a Confirmation Number, most likely one of two scenarios will happen.

1) PayPal will request from your bank the amount of the plane ticket. The bank will approve it, put you in the negative with your bank, and fine with PayPal.

2) PayPal will request the money from your bank. The bank will decline it, and you are now in the negative with PayPal but fine with your bank.

Because you bought this on a Weekend and Monday is a Holiday, it may still stay pending and not be until Tuesday until you find out which one happens as banks don't post transactions on Weekends or Holidays. Just realize that in both cases the company you are negative with may not give you the time to put the money back "when you get it". If you wait too long the bank or PayPal could close your account and turn you over to collections for the negative amount.

I doubt your bank will let you overdraw your account the second time, especially for a large transaction. If they do and you don't deposit enough money to cover the cost of the ticket plus any overdraft fees, the bank could close your account and report you to ChexSystems which will prevent you from opening new accounts at other banks. They will also send your account to a collections agency and that will damage your credit rating.

Try to see if your husband's potential employer offers phone interviews.

This is why you should have a backup credit card - for necessary purchases that you can't cover with cash at the time.

There is a chance that your bank will deny the charge, in which case your ticket will be canceled.

Tuki, unless you talk to your bank and get an OD limit, you will not get ticket confirmation on a credit or debit card without sufficient funds.

maybe if you sold them on ebay-you could gain some income from it and then buy stuff that you really want. Maybe give yourself some positive self talk to get through it and reward yourself with a fun activity-hey-I should throw a party if I could clean the closet.

Put it on a credit card.
