I don't know about all companies, but I know that the company my husband works for, gives him free tickets to anywhere they fly (Europe, Africa, the Middle East). My children and I are only required to pay the taxes on tickets. When we fly to destinations not provided by his company, he only pays taxes, while the children and I pay 10%. It varies from company to company, so your best bet is to check with your benefits office and see what their policies are.

Discounts For Airline Employees

This depends entirely on the airline. I work for a domestic airline as a flight attendant and i am given Group 1 and Group 2. Group 1 is myself plus partner (can be anyone) and we are entitled to $500 credit and unlimited sectors. We still have to pay the fuel and taxes for each port we go too. Then group 2 is 4 people of my choice who get the same discounts but not the $500 credit and they only get 32 sectors a year. And yes it is all on Standby, meaning if the flight is full we get the next one. We also recieve discounts on some international airlines which can be up to 90%. Being and ailine staff member entitles other discounts too. Check out the below websites - these offer us cheap flight!!

Airline employees usually get 100% discount on travel. There are even some airlines who give 100% discount to the parents of their employees. While others, give 75% discount to the immediate family. Bad thing is Flight Attendants and other airline employees are usually the least priority in a flight since they have non-revenue tickets. They are always subject to space.

They usually fly free but often have to pay the taxes...depending on the airlines. Also, they have to fly on standby without confirmed seats. Many airlines, especially US, will allow 75 -100 percent free for the parents, standby also. They may only get 2 free passes a year (often plus pay for the taxes); most airlines give more, like 10 a year and also will give you a buddy pass to go with it; where you can take a friend instead of a spouse. Each airlineis different.

The employee's, spouses and children of the employee all fly for free on Delta. You get 8 buddy passes a year which are a fraction of the cost of a regular ticket. BUT its all stand-by travel. The benefit to FA's and Pilot's is they can fly in the jump seat and not have to worry as long as they are the first one to check in for that seat. When flying other airlines, SkyTeam members are free, others are 75-90% off. I was going to Sydney Australia for $650 roundtrip, but its standby as well. Sometimes its worth it, sometimes not. Just gotta know when to fly. Plus there is a strict dress code and if a seat is in First Class you get it provided you are dressed appropriately. All standby is done by the seniority of the agent. And there are times you get stuck for days on end. You just gotta know the right time and places to go. I saw the world for free and loved it!

Best to look into the package tours, that way you can control the cost. An extended cruse can be a good deal, you can save a lot by finding someone to travel along with you. The single supplement can be very expensive. Join a travel club.
