i want to take brand new apple laptop in the cabin?

flying to overseas , laptop is a gift to my sister. can i take it ( unpacked brand new Apple ) to the airplane cabin or i need to chek it in? flying from USA to EU... will TSA tell me to open it and turn it on? its brand new in manufactures package. thnx

Definitely do NOT put it in your checked bag. You should not ever put valuables in your checked bag.



You shoudn't have to turn it on - that is usually the case in foreign airports with flights TO the US, not for flights out of the US.

I fly frequently,TSA will makes you turn on all laptops and most other electronic gear. Especially true for international flights
