Do you think business class service on a good related airline like Swiss or Lufthansa is worth it on a 10 hour flight? Especially if the BC is an upgrade rather than paying way more since booking time?

Hell. Yes. I wouldn't fly transatlantic in coach. My limbs and body are worth the additional cost.

It wouldn't be to me. It might be to some people.

Absolutely. I wouldn't fly coach for 10 hours, even in Main Cabin Extra/Economy Plus or the like.

Is it worth it?

Do you NEED the extra leg room?

It is a Nicer meal or two. A few extra drinks. HOW MUCH IS A MEAL worth to you.

If you are not paying for it what is the issue?

The seats are a little wider. Your have a few inches more room if you are tall.

You get a little more attention from the Flight crew.

ON a ten hour flight MOST SLEEP part of the time. The Business class seat is a little more comfortable for that.

If you can afford it - yes

When you're tall like me, a seat you can stretch out in is well worth it for a flight that long, especially if you can get it just as an upgrade. The food is better and it's a LOT different overall.

DH and I space out our longest flights so that we can save up our Delta SkyMiles and get at least a big discount (pay with miles - part cash) on our FC or Business flights for long hauls - or even get them free every so often! We never ever fly in Economy - DH calls is *steerage*. I have had a knee an shoulder replacement, and have circulatory diseases, and even though I am OK now and *look* fine - I want to STAY that way! we are hardly rich, but we are smart little squirrels and make sure we get a deal on MOST things in life. As retired people (retired in our fifties) we have the time to do the research that this took at the BEGINNING - now, we are slicker at it. There are people who travel a lot more than us (maybe 3 RT a year by air?) - usually business people - and they know more ins and outs - but we are good with what we do. Always looking to learn more!

There's no way I'd fly overseas unless flying business or first. If I can't afford that, there's no reason to go.

If you can afford it then yes. Economy is hell on a long haul flight.

There's a whole lot of difference between a free upgrade and paying for it yourself.

Why ask if a free upgrade is "worth it"?
