Was it an on Egypt Air, Air France, Emirates???

The ONLY reason the lights should get turned of in an aircraft is when you fly through a storm... Apparently something about lightning that can hit the aircraft and if there is more electrical appliances working on it you attract lightning more and if it does happen that the aircraft get hit there is a higher risk of fire.

But there is absolutely no reason for it on a bright sunny day...

It is also a way of bringing rowdy passengers to rest because it's a way of getting people to sleep and if you want to read you can just put your overhead light on.

Maybe the cabin crew were hungover and needed some peace and quiet and darkness!!

Maybe the pilots just wanted to take a nap?

That is weird maybe someone has a severe reaction to light and requested all lights to be off?

Maybe it was for the people who wanted to watch the movie so the light wouldn't glare on the movie screens.
