Alaska Airlines actually just announced yesterday (March 31, 2007) that they are begining to travel to Hawaii begining Fall of 2007. So no one has any experience yet... but I am very excited to fly there!!!! :0)

I don't think they've started flying to Hawaii yet - they just announced they're going to start though. But I've had good experiences with Alaska Airlines, although I've only flown them a couple times.

I Like SouthWest Airlines, they are very fun people. I guess having everything standarized like their airplanes (all 737's) makes everything easier for them to reduce costs. They don't serve meals either. About Alaska, no idea, sorry. About the regional airlines you mentioned, all of them are good airlines. However it depends on where you live or what are your plans in the future. For example if you live in Atlanta and you don't mind being a First Officer for more than 5 years at a regional, Comair would be a first choice. If you want faster upgrade to Captain and you live close to their bases, then Chautauqua (Republic Holdings) or SkyWest should be your choice. The term "Bigger Airline, Better Airline" is completely false. Mesa Airlines is bigger than a lot of other regionals, however they are considered the worst airline to work for. Hope this helps!

I've flown Alaska quite a bit, and find them to be a fine airline--good service, friendly, helpful.

Not Hawaii, but I've flown Alaska Airlines from LAX to Cancun and LAX to SEA (Seattle) and ANC (Anchorage) a lot. I've always been impressed with their service. Friendly staff, pretty good on time performance.
