I want to fly to Asia in comfort as the flight is so long. What is the difference service-wise between 1st class and business class?

It depends on the airline, but you'll pay twice as much for 1st class than you will for business class. With the better airlines, both business and 1st class have seats that fold down into beds, but the 1st class seats will be larger and often your own "suite.". Airlines like Cathay Pacific will give you designer pajamas and amenity kits, access to 1st class lounges, better food and the finest champagnes, wines and liquors.

Business class is not bad though, you'll still have beds on many airlines, much better food than economy class, designer amenity kits, priority check-in, boarding and baggage handling and access to business class lounges before your flights.

Check out the difference between Cathay Pacific's 1st and business class seats, then check out the price difference. Business class is just fine in most cases:

You get better service in 1st class, since that is the indulge yourself class.

Business class is cheaper than 1st class. I would check the aircraft type before you book. On some of the older planes (or planes with an old seat configuration), they have older style business seats, and aren't as cozy as the new ones. But the cheaper price of biz still beats first class. I would do this (or fly coach), and save the money for your destination.

It depends on the aircraft. the aicraft either have business class or first..The best first class seats are found on the larger/Newer aircrafts also cost more money and the service is excelent.. Business class are on the smaller airplanes..Before you book your flight check to see what aircraft they have. It realy depend on the plane's modle..the 777 delta. has the best firstclass by far..

first class is the max luxury followed by business which is slightly less, and coacc/economy is the least. in first you get great seats, great food, excellent bathrooms, attendants prioritize you first, more perks like wifi, tv channels, something to read, etc. in business you get food, less comfortable seats but still good! and you are second in the list of attendants
