I would choose Asiana because they have a better safety record.

But I would also ask you if you are a frequent flyer of any major airline. Asiana is a member of the Star Alliance which includes United, US Airways, Singapore Airlines. If you plan to fly any of those airlines in the future or any of the 20+ members of the Star Alliance, then I would definitely select Asiana.

If you are a frequent flyer member of Delta Airlines, then you may want to fly Korean Airlines since both airlines are part of the SkyTeam Alliance.

Even though my preference is Asiana, if you have a Delta SkyMiles account, I would select Korean Airlines because you can earn a lot of miles on that flight.

Urgh god, Asiana. I nearly died in that plane. They won the Skytrax award's best airline 2011, I don't know how the hell. I was going from England to Korea, and it was a 10 hour flight of sheer uncomfort. The spaces were way too small- you didn't have space to spread your legs, and it was real cramped. You couldn't lean you're chair back enough. It was cold at night, and the blankets smelled. I couldn't sleep because I felt sick (ok, this was my fault because I ate when there was turbulence, so I can't dock marks here). The media wasn't exactly great- it had all the latest movies and all but the screen was too small. I don't know about Korean Air but anything's got to be better than that. Honestly, if you can't stand being cramped for 10 hours straight, go Korean Air.
